  Steps to Fix Critical Error WordPress Website : Usually caused by a syntax error in your functions.php file. Try roll back on your theme update and see if the problem persists. Check your email and see what the error is. Rename your theme folder. Try login again. Go through cpanel >>File manager >> root folder  >> public html >> wp-content >>plugins Rename the plugin folder to maybe n-plugin. If this solve it, delete the recently activated plugin or reactive plugin one after the other.   Steps to Fix Critical Error WordPress Website : 1. I backed up the website using UpdraftPlus, and downloaded all of the 8 files. 2. I changed DNS to point to the the new nameservers and went to bed. 3. I woke up, and saw a plain vanilla WordPress site. Installed UpgradePlus, and uploaded all 8 files 4. I ran restore, which seemed to complete correctly. Was not prompted for “search and replace site location in the database”. Perhaps because the domain name is the same?? 5. When I attempt to login to the site /wp-admin I get “There has been a critical error on this website.   Troubleshoot Plugin Conflict Issues If that’s not the theme, it could be a problem with the plugin. In some ways, the troubleshooting is similar.
